Wondagurl aka Ebony Oshunrinde is a Canadian self-made producer. At a young age, Ebony taught herself the basics of beat making. She broke through the male-dominated world of producing by using different beat programs and learning from YouTube. She entered Battle of the Beatmakers twice and won the title in 2012. Her moniker, “Wondagurl” is inspired by Boi-1da who mentored her at the Remix Project Studio in Toronto before she gained the 2012 Beatmaker title. Wondagurl eventually worked with Travis Scott on his debut mixtape, Owl Pharoah, by producing Uptown. One year later this opportunity sprouted into another and Ebony received production placement on Jay Z’s 2013 album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. Wondagurl has since worked with Drake,SZA, Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, PND and more. She has signed her first producer, Eestbound who is responsible for Travis Scott’s Antidote and Young Thug’s Freaky. Ebony recognized her dream, set her goals and worked towards them and is gracefully making her way up. Look at her Beat Breakdown on Uptown below:
